My Italian learnings

Still working on this page…

Hi there….. I‘ve spent 5 years trying to learn Italian. Yep, trying and failing miserably because…. hmmm… well, as you could guess, from the website‘s name, I don‘t like to mingle. Since socialising is important in Italian culture, obviously I don‘t triumph in that genre. But nonetheless, since I go to Italy often and I live in the region in Switzerland where Italian is the official language, I‘d better learn it somehow. Due to personal reasons or excuses (I shall not trouble you on the rubbish I‘ve to deal in life) I‘ve thought that not speaking the language could protect myself from unwanted conflicts. I‘m a peace lover, don‘t want no trouble y‘all get it? Anyway, most importantly, fundamentally I do like and appreciate Italian language. So here I am, taking a huge leap of faith bypassing my fear and learn Italian well!! Here we go!

When a person wishes to learn something new, the conventional way is most likely to go to the school that teaches that specific discipline, isn’t it? Well….. I could do so but…. here comes the big ‘BUT‘ (Italians do like to use ‘però‘=but quite a lot), I don‘t feel comfortable in a group of people. Being an introvert, it really stresses me out. Hence I seek out virtual learning alternatives. In this age, there are in fact many options. Example Zoom or Skype 1-on-1 lessons which are obviously a No no for me. I believe at this stage you know me well enough so I‘d save you the self-introductions… Fortunately there are other options still. Like self-paced virtual lessons and extensive online references with vocal recordings of native speakers. I‘ll share all the information I‘ve gathered here. Hope these could help you.
